Case Evaluation | Jeffery R. Mazer, Lawyer®Representing Employees in Employment Related Matters

Case Evaluation, Attorney Legal Services, Labor Employment Attorney

The case evaluation between Attorney Mazer and the client is the most important aspect of the representation. The case evaluation begins with an initial telephone call between the client and Attorney Mazer. During this initial telephone conversation, Attorney Mazer will ask you a series of questions regarding your employment relationship. The purpose of the initial telephone conversation is to allow Attorney Mazer to briefly review your case to determine if any potential legal claims exist.

Once it is determined that potential legal claims exist, Attorney Mazer will schedule a meeting at his office. In order to assist Attorney Mazer in reviewing your case, you are encouraged to bring any documentation that you have in your possession that relates to your employment. Attorney Mazer also requests that you draft a chronology logging all of the events that you believe to be unlawful, the dates of the events and the names of individuals who may have witnessed any of the events.

If it is determined that you have legal claims, Attorney Mazer will explain to you your options of seeking redress for your legal claims. If there is more than one option for redress, Attorney Mazer will explain the pros and cons of each option so you can make an educated decision on the option that is best for you.

Please remember that the case evaluation is also an opportunity for you to obtain information and ask questions. Please bring with you a list of questions that you may have for Attorney Mazer to ensure that Attorney Mazer addresses all of your questions and concerns.

The case evaluation typically lasts about one hour. Due to the importance of the case evaluation, Attorney Mazer does not place a time limit on the meeting. In fact, Attorney Mazer will not conclude the case evaluation until all of the client's questions and concerns have been addressed. Attorney Mazer also has what he calls an "open phone policy" which means that following the case evaluation, should the client have any additional questions or concerns, the client is encouraged to contact Attorney Mazer by telephone as often as is necessary to address the client's questions or concerns.
